Process
You will gain an understanding of the benefits of a physical warm-up that includes exercises, voice and body work, and improvisation games.
Voice
The purpose of these basic vocal techniques is to help open and release your vocal capacity, expanding your range of expression. This is done in part by locating and releasing areas of habitual tension, as well as through daily breathing exercises and vocal warm-ups. Breathing, stretching, relaxation, resonance, range and articulation are all part of what will become integral to your daily personal warm-up routine. Among the early lessons, you'll study and recite verse aloud to see how your delivery of the lines corresponds to your ability to project an interpretation.
Movement
Your ability to perform naturally as any character requires that you are as physically versatile as you are creatively flexible. You'll explore all kinds of physical movement, with a focus on how unconscious habits often inhibit your potential. Breaking free of those inhibitions is essential, and you'll do so by learning traditional movement exercises like Laban, improvisation, and clowning.
